ENTRAPMENT TUNNEL MONOHULL TECHNOLOGY
A pair of amas on either side of the slender center hull form air and water Entrapment Tunnels. This configuration is termed a Stabilized Monohull, not a Tri-Hull or Cathedral Hull. Similar to a bicycle with training wheels, the interaction of the center hull with the amas is the key to Sea Blade’s stability. Whether at rest or underway it will automatically maintain a flat trim and level heel. When running in waves, any motions that causes an ama to dip into the water immediately generates an upward spray sheet into the entrapment tunnel; the tunnel ceiling translates the force of the trapped compressed air and spray into a righting moment, countering the disturbing motion. The larger the motion disturbance, the greater the amount of spray that is generated and therefore, the larger the stabilizing righting moment forces. BENEFITS:
